Rebecca Carter

Originally born in Worthing, Rebecca moved to Leicester when she was 7 and began her dance training at Pirouette Academy of Dance under Jayne Sharman and Rosalea Houghton. Whilst training she gained her Advanced exams in Imperial Ballet, Modern, Tap, National and Classical Greek and also competed in many competitions, including the finals of the All England Dance Competition at Sadlers Wells Theatre. She also appeared in the King & I as the oldest of the King's children.

However, having always been fairly academically minded, at 16 Rebecca decided that a career as a professional dancer wasn't for her and so went to college instead, gaining 4 A-Levels and then following that up with a BSc Honours degree in Computer Science from Leicester University. She gained her associate teaching qualification in Imperial Ballet under the training of Elizabeth Hodgeshon and currently teaches ballet in a number of schools across Brighton.

Her aims for the future are to become a ballet examiner and a qualified teacher in Classical Greek.
